About: the designer and her thirty years of sewing

Testimonials and the wall of supporters
The problem
A Lausanne seamstress artist, working with second-hand fabric for thirty years, had no web presence at all. She was preparing a charity fashion show whose proceeds went to ten partner charities. She needed a site to present her work and her collections, sell tickets, and above all fund the event upfront through a fundraiser. All before a fixed date.
What I built
- Six pages: home, show, travelling sewing workshop, collections, support, about — the designer's own story takes as much room as the event. Design included: the visual identity is mine.
- The fundraiser is set up on an established Swiss platform, then wired into the site. The giving journey sits on the page; handling the money does not.
- Ticketing is delegated the same way, to an existing service.
The decision that matters
I wrote neither the payments nor the ticketing. These were donations meant for charities, with a non-negotiable event date and a single person — the designer herself — to maintain the site after handover. Writing that part myself would have added compliance, failure handling and a point of failure, for a result equivalent at best. The useful work was elsewhere: making the project legible and giving obvious.
Result
The fundraiser passed its target of CHF 30,000 and reached CHF 32,305, from 137 donors. The site is still live and now serves the exhibition that followed the show.
